Minigame: Electropixel
I got into watching a bunch of videos on YouTube of people making music with DAWless synthesizers like the Teenage Engineering OP-1 recently, and it reminded me slightly of Electroplankton, a completely out of left field Nintendo DS game from the mid-2000s. I have absolutely utterly no music knowledge whatsoever, and really not much in the way of talent (in music and elsewhere), but I’ve never let that stop me before, so I gave it a little try. Click and drag to “draw” platforms, and when the pixels fall on the platforms, they make a noise, bounce off, hit other platforms, make noises there, etc.
I believe people actually genuinely make music with the TIC-80, but I’m probably misusing it in some way. Since there are only 4 audio channels you’re very, very limited in the types of sound it’s easy to make. (Or more accurately, I am very very limited.)
Anyway, Battlefield 6 came out this week so to be honest I spent most of my time playing that instead of making a game, so this is a little ‘minigame’ what I spent time making but doesn’t hold an awful lot of merit. Thankfully this is my arcade, and so I can publish wholly meritless things if I want.
All these games are incomplete and broken. Caveat emptor
